What is ChaiWithPapa.com about

ChaiwithPapa.com is a curated listing of Indian Art House Movies, Documentaries and Web Series. The site's primary focus is on Indian Art House Cinema but it also includes some Indian and English commercial titles. Click the link on the Top of the page "About ChaiWithPapa.com". It will give you some insight into the author of this website and the content focus of this site.

Creating an Account

Follow the process by clicking on "Create Account" on the Top Right of the Page. Please note they if you do not create and Account, you will have limited viewing on the site. For example, you will not be able to rate any Titles or provide any comments on Titles. You will also not be able to export pdf's.

Here you can change some of your basic information and password if needed.

Explanation of the Home Page and Icons 

These are my Eight categories. When you click on any of the icons, you will see ALL the Top Ranked Titles by ChaiWithPapa within that category. You also have the Option to see ALL Titles within that Category.

General Search

Min of 3 characters required. If it finds those string of 3 characters in any Key fields it will display the results. Type in "whole" words to make your search more specific.  Titles will be shown First. It will also search for that text in  Directors, Alternate Title, etc.  

Advanced Search

Great Feature to get to your specific targeted results. You can then mark those Titles as "My Favorites" or you can generate a pdf for your records.

How to Create "My Favorites" 

You have to be in the Detail Title page and click the "Chai Cup" on the Top Right side to mark that Title as your Favorite. To view your Favorites go to the left side of the Page and click on "My Favorites". You can export "My Favorites" to a pdf file. To remove a Favorite Title, just unclick the Chai Cup on the Detail Title Page.

How to View Trailers

Click on the Link on the Title Detail Page. Sometimes YouTube removes or relocates the Trailer Videos in which case just search again on YouTube.  You can always do a Google to locate a Trailer.

In some cases, the Trailer link will take you to a general site and you will to search that General Site for the Trailer. Example: Manjhi

Where to View Titles

If known, I have listed Platforms where one can view Titles in the Title detail page.   (Amazon Prime. Netflix, etc).  In some cases, I have specific links where you can actually view the complete Title. However, there are many Titles that don’t have a Platform link.  Here are some suggestions. 

1. Google the Title and see if you can locate any information

2. Download App called "Just Watch"

3. Many sites  have sprung up- Cinemas of India, mubi india, etc that keep adding Titles

3. Ask your Friends who have interest in this subject area

4. If you become aware of Platforms where a Title can be viewed. Please inform the admin via "Contact Us" so that we an update the site

How to add your Ratings &  Reviews for any Title

At the bottom of the Detailed Title Page you will see "Post your review and rating". The first line is a "Chai" cup rating scale of 1-10 Cups. You can also use half cups in your rating. Remember, the more people who rate the Title, the more valuable the "Average User rating" field becomes. You should also add some text  in the next section. Please avoid using any profanity and keep in mind that the admin has the authority to edit any inappropriate comments.  Your reviews ONLY get posted after the Admin reviews it. 

Film Festivals Link 

This Link (left side of page) provides you with access to several International Film Festivals. You can see what Titles in this website are affiliated with a particular Film Festival.

Additional Information Link

This Link (left side of page) provides you with information about Indian Art House Cinema. If anyone wants to learn more about this genre, there are many links to good information. 

Difference between "Story Theme" and "Language"

Story Theme -  Which country does the story line of the Title relate to. For example you could have an Indian Story theme movie but the Country of Origin could be Canada. 

Language -  is exactly what it is i.e. what Language is spoken in the Movie/TV/Documentary. Sometimes a Title is available in several Languages. I have attempted to select the main one only

Promoting Specific Titles on Social Platforms

There are Links on the site that allow you to share on social media platforms. You can also follow us on these platforms. We encourage all our Users to socialize this site to your friends and family who have an interest in this subject matter.

Will there be an App for ChaiWithPapa in the Future

We would certainly like to. It will depend on the number of Users and if there are many requests for it. We will look to "Fund Me" contributions or we may add a very nominal fee in the Future to pay for enhancements, maintenance, etc.

Subscription Fee

No fee to access the site currently. However if the site gets good traction, there is a possibility there may be a small fee in the future  to cover the Costs of Hosting, making enhancements, fixing bugs, etc.  I have funded this entirely at my expense but would welcome any Contributions from Users to keep this site current and relevant.

How to Contact Us

There are 2 "Contact Us" Links. One on the Top of the page and one at the bottom. Please provide as much information as possible. If you are experiencing issues on the site, please provide screen shots and explain what is happening. If you requesting the Admin to add a New title, please provide as much detail about the Title. Please keep in mind that the Admin has the final decision on adding new Titles based on how applicable it is to the overall purpose of this site.
